Monthly Chapter Meeting
Feng Shui
Tuesday, November 7, 2017 - 7 pm
Everybody Feng Shui tonight!

Join us November 7th for a Feng Shui presentation and a fun, hands-on exercise! Bring a floor plan of a room or office that you'd like to work on. (Bring 2 -3 copies of the original.)

By enhancing the positive energies and neutralizing the negative energies, life becomes simpler, healthier, more peaceful and abundant.

Sometimes we are out of sync with our personal environment.  This misalignment can leave you vulnerable to negative energies.  The resulting effect may translate into poor health, missed opportunities and conflict.  By realigning your environment to your personal energy, healing takes place.  You can then be in a state of balance.  Balance enhances opportunities, smooths relationships and brightens your future.

Our guest speaker is Veronica Montinola, Master of Feng Shui and Chinese Astrology Consultant.

How long have you been a member of HMN?
I joined HMN in March of 2017 shortly after meeting the group at a presentation I shared on Energy Medicine for the "Whole Family".  I was so impressed by the level of consciousness and caring the group had for their families and for each other.  My children are now 9 and 14.  I would have loved to have started when they were babies and I was navigating motherhood for the first time.

I am a holistic mom because:
I am a Holistic Mom because of my own life experiences.  Prior to getting married in 1999, I began an intense journey of personal growth with an organization called Pathways for Successful Living which helped me understand the relationship we first have to ourselves, our creator and then the relationship with others.  I consider myself a seeker of truth, always learning, always curious to understand more.  For years I volunteered my weekend time as a group leader and coordinator of the program to serve other students on their journey of healing and growth.  I learned to step out of the box of what I was raised to believe into ways to grow and thrive.  For example, to avoid Sinus surgery, I worked with an Organic Nutritionist to heal my body from the inside out.  The result was sinus' healed, emotions calmed, skin looked great and an easy pregnancy resulted.

What I didn't know is that this work I began in 1999 with, would ultimately support my husband and me through our greatest loss.  In 2007, our second baby boy was stillborn at 31 1/2 weeks in utero.  We were devasted, but at the same time, I was given many gifts that lead me to focus on healing with grace and gratitude.  I did not want our loss, to cause me to become stuck.

Acupuncture, Lifeline Technique, Supplements, Herbs became my choice for healing even though I knew little about these things.  My 3rd child was conceived in 4 months from our loss and I continued with the regular Lifeline session became pregnant naturally.  My pregnancy with our daughter Faith woke me to new possibilities of healing and I became committed to both learning and teaching others how they too can heal themselves.

Since 2007, I have continued to learn and expand my wisdom in holistic practices, became a holistic practitioner and business owner and now teach anyone that is open to being empowered with tools beyond traditional medicine and drugs.   Tools that they have and can tap into at any time.

I wish I could say, I have the Holistic Mom role figured out.  It has been a slow process of discovery and change having grown up in a mainstream family with no belief in Energy Medicine or alternative healing choices, with children in public school, I still have much to learn.

However, I also know that as I grow. learn and expand, my children and husband increase their openness and willingness to ask, "What else is possible?"

My holistic passions are:
Eden Energy Medicine, The Lifeline Technique, The Five Elements, Personal Growth and Empowerment.

What inspires you about HMN or holistic living?
Infinite Possibilities to learn, grow and evolve in a healthier way.  I am also inspired by the fact that the more each of our awareness grows, the more open we each become, and the more we recognize that we are all connected and one, the more we will impact our world and our children's world to come. As each of us grows and heals from the inside out we thrive and in doing so, when one heals, we impact all those we are around, who will also heal from the light we shine.  It is the beautiful ripple effect that can only expand with personal commitment to go where others will not dare, self-awareness through increased present time consciousness in those moments of where we could easily react but choose to respond instead.   Changing the world starts with changing old habits from the past, and changing ourselves first and foremost.  Michael Jackson song, "I am looking at the man in the Mirror"

What is your favorite healthy recipe?

Throw Something into the Pot - Turkey Chilli

We make this a lot in the fall season and double it up for friends and family.  It is quick, easy and everyone always loves it.

We use organic.  Easy Substitutions, frozen veggies.
Common adds for us:
Red, Yellow and Orange Peppers Diced.
We also always add diced onion.
Anything can be substituted or additional veggies can be added.

1 lb lean ground turkey
1 can Mexican Style Diced Tomatoes (I often increase the tomatoes)
1 Can 15 1/2 black beans (drained and rinsed)
1 Can (14 oz) whole-kernel sweet corn (drained)
1 package (1 1/4oz)  dried chili mix - can substitute and seasoning
1/4 cup water

Throw it in the crockpot in the morning and enjoy later.  No time to wait still tastes great!

Safe, Organic Lawn Care!  Our services include:

- Organic/Natural lawn care
- Weed Control
- Grub Control
- Core Aeration/Overseeding
- Tree/Shrub Fertilizing

Organic/Natural Program or Organic Based Blended Program

We start by finding out what type of lawn you are looking for, then we come up with a plan to get your lawn to that point.

We then take care of the soil and fix any problems that are preventing your lawn from growing properly.

As we take care of  your lawn/soil you will see the transformation from a hard compacted soil with thin grass to a thick, healthy lawn with soil that is full of life and organic matter.

We have a mixture of Compost Tea and Kelp that we spray on our lawns to make them healthy and beautiful without all those nasty chemical fertilizers.
