I am a Holistic Mom because: I am just trying to do what I feel is best for my family and keep everyone happy and healthy. My holistic passions are:
Homebirth, breastfeeding, cloth diapering, unschooling, organic gardening, real food cooking, fermenting, peaceful parenting, babywearing
What inspires you about holistic moms or holistic living? I love to see people living fully and questioning everything. It takes courage to go against convention, and I enjoy surrounding myself with strong, vibrant women who inspire one another in their convictions. One of my favorite healthy recipes:
Chocolate Coconut Bark no bake, gluten-free, dairy-free Base: 1/4 tsp pink salt 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Topping: dark chocolate or carob chips, melted Melt coconut oil in double boiler (or, if using a small glass jar, just put the whole thing in a bowl of hot water to melt) and then combine with honey, salt, and vanilla. Choose a pan (like a small Pyrex) to which you can add the mixture to about 1/4" thickness. Sprinkle shredded coconut evenly into the oil mixture. Place in freezer for 20-30 minutes until coconut oil firms back up. Meanwhile, melt chocolate chips in a double boiler over the stove. Allow to cool slightly and then spread melted chocolate over the firmed coconut mixture and sprinkle with any other toppings you may like, such as sprouted nuts or dried fruit. Transfer to the freezer and leave to set. After about 45 minutes, remove and break into small pieces. Serve right away or store in a container in refrigerator for future use.
