Last week, our elected officials approved the use of police force to enter residents' property against their will, destroy private property, threaten their pets and arrest mothers who were exercising their right to refuse a product without a warrant and who were documenting the events along with CBS news reports.

See Videos, click here.

This may be common place in other parts of the world.
In Naperville, Illinois? Not until last week.

Whatever side of the political aisle you sit on, the events of the past week require an immediate response.  Why? Because this blatant misuse of our police force reveals a much deeper problemThe misuse of power.

Police still using force to install meters

Naperville city police are still using force to install meters.
Stay tuned for stories from residents.

While Naperville City Police are still accompanying installers to forcefully install wireless smart meters on people's property, the city's decision to approve use of this force has garnished worldwide attention.

The list below is a partial list of media coverage that are focusing on the outrages acts of the police force and city government.

We want to indicate that we realize the city's police force is following directives given them by the city manager and approved by the city council. Both of which are now being called the "Bully Police Squad".

Our police force is better than that and should not be used as thug enforcers of a utility policy that doesn't even have a basis in the law. Remember - the US Energy Policy Act states the utilities can offer smart metering technology and provide it upon request by the consumer.

We want to remind residents that there is an election coming up in April, which provides a huge opportunity for us to vote some of the council members out of office; between the heroine issue at our public schools, the multiple violations of the of the Open Meetings Act, the blocked referendum for residents to vote, the current push by council to overturn residents votes on districts, and the use of police force to jump fences and install meters - its time for a change Naperville!

Which ever side you fall on the "smart" meter issue you must ask yourself, are you okay with the tactics used to force compliance of a utility policy that is not even a state or federal law?
