Monthly Chapter Meeting
Energy Healing for Families with Kelly Goetz
Tuesday, February 7th, 7pm
Kelly Goetz will be focusing on Eden Energy Medicine.  During this interactive gathering, she will teach the daily energy routine or exercises around calming the nervous system/fight, flight, freeze response, or creating more focus.

After a short overview of what Energy Medicine is, Kelly will use Kinesiology and ask to test different ladies then guide everyone through the exercise that would support that individual, as well as the rest of the group.  What we learn intellectually and experience will give everyone an opportunity to retain it and use it at home with our kids.

For example, Kelly might ask if anyone ever feels scrambled.  We will test the appropriate person then lead everyone through the exercise.  In essence it will be a group mini session.

Our kids tend to reflect the energy of where we are at.  They usually shift quickly, so to educate and heal the mother, heals the child so to speak.  We will walk away with tools we can put into action right away.

Meeting Location:  The Health Doctors, Ltd., 28379 Davis Parkway, Suite 803, Warrenville, Illinois 60555

I am a holistic mom because
My eyes were opened about 15 years ago to how toxic our Standard American Diet is, which lead to toxins in cleaning and beauty products, which led to fluoride, which led to alternative medicine (and so on...).  I remember wishing that I had been taught all of this growing up, but then again, things weren't as toxic then and the internet didn't exist.  So, I was thankful that I had at least learned holistic ways before I had children.  When we had our first child almost 8 years ago, it just made sense to apply what I had learned to how we raised our children.  I am thrilled that our children will grow up knowing Arnica and not Tylenol.

My holistic passions are:
to teach people about this "other" world that exists, help them figure out what their passion is in this other world and help them start their journey.  My children are at the top of my list of people I love to teach, so although I would REALLY like to be out giving presentations and forming support groups, my children and day job consume all of my time.  So, until the kids decide they don't need me, I will teach them to garden, cook, be kind to nature and treat our ailments holistically when possible (to date...all of their ailments have been treated holistically or by their body just doing what it knows to do all on its own...YAY mom!!!!!  Hahahah...I have plenty "Mother-of-the-Year Awards", but I also have lots of Holistic Mother of the Year awards on the shelf too.

What inspires you about HMN or holistic living?
Oh my...I could talk forever on this topic.  I am inspired to live holistically because it is a pure and simple way of life and it just makes sense.  Less is more definitely applies here.  I love that I teach our children how to make food from scratch, that their body has the amazing ability to heal itself if we give it a chance, that just because someone says it is good for you doesn't mean that it is, that just because an ingredient is allowed in food doesn't mean we should eat it or that it is safe to eat and just because "everyone else is doing it"....doesn't mean we should.

What is your favorite healthy recipe?

Kale Chips!

Get about 4 bundles of kale, strip the leaves from the stems and rinse a couple times.  Then massage olive oil and sea salt onto all the leaves. I mean it when I say massage...don't just mix it in...massage it in by grabbing handfuls and squeezing and rubbing with your fingers),  I wing it on the measurements.  For the oil, I try to put enough to coat everything, but not so much that it is gathering on the bottom of my pot.  The salt is to taste...we like salt in our house :-).  I used to make the kale in the oven, but when it was done, the kale chips were so dark, they almost looked burnt (and like I killed all the nutrients) and I got tired of having to constantly mix it so it didn't bake unevenly.  I tried the dehydrator (Excalibur) on 105 degrees, but they were just ok.  Then my husband suggested I turn up the dehydrator to 155 degrees...that seemed to be the sweet spot of perfection as far as producing a beautifully green and super crunchy kale.  Most importantly...the kids will eat it!!! We usually do the kale in the evening, and then by the time we wake up in the morning, the kale is done.  It is soooooooooo good when it is warm and fresh out of the dehydrator.  Enjoy!

Organic/Natural Program or Organic Based Blended Program

We start by finding out what type of lawn you are looking for, then we come up with a plan to get your lawn to that point.

We then take care of the soil and fix any problems that are preventing your lawn from growing properly.

As we take care of  your lawn/soil you will see the transformation from a hard compacted soil with thin grass to a thick, healthy lawn with soil that is full of life and organic matter.

We have a mixture of Compost Tea and Kelp that we spray on our lawns to make them healthy and beautiful without all those nasty chemical fertilizers.

Calm Bodies, Calm Families: Using Basic Brain Science to Understand Your Children and Yourself

Tuesday, January 3rd, 7pm

Have you heard about "sensory issues" in kiddos and wondered how that may apply to your own experience as a parent? Do you struggle to rectify developmentally inappropriate societal expectations of your child when your gut instinct as a parent tells you something feels mismatched? Are you curious about how natural-minded practices integrate with the science of child development and human connection?

Join Pediatric OT Kim Oswald for an evening to delve into these questions (as well as some of your own)...and leave with some new tools, perspectives, and levity for your human experience dealing with mis-firing nervous systems, aka parenting!

Meeting Location:  The Health Doctors, Ltd., 28379 Davis Parkway, Suite 803, Warrenville, Illinois 60555
