Monthly Chapter Meeting
Calm Bodies, Calm Families: Using Basic Brain Science to Understand Your Children and Yourself
Tuesday, January 3rd, 7pm
Have you heard about "sensory issues" in kiddos and wondered how that may apply to your own experience as a parent? Do you struggle to rectify developmentally inappropriate societal expectations of your child when your gut instinct as a parent tells you something feels mismatched? Are you curious about how natural-minded practices integrate with the science of child development and human connection?

Join Pediatric OT Kim Oswald for an evening to delve into these questions (as well as some of your own)...and leave with some new tools, perspectives, and levity for your human experience dealing with mis-firing nervous systems, aka parenting!

Kim Oswald, OTR/L, CYT
Kim is a pediatric occupational therapist that specializes in nervous system function, sensory integration, attention, sensory-motor development, and emotional self-regulation.  She combines her 13 years of private clinical practice with a holistic approach, including mindfulness, conscious parenting, self-awareness, essential oils, and nature.  She has extensive experience both consulting with and presenting workshops to school staff and parents.  Kim is a certified yoga instructor, mom, and co-host of the podcast "The Resourced Adult," along with Naturopathic Doctor Danielle Anderson.

How long have you been a member of HMN?
I joined in August of 2014.

I am a holistic mom because
I have been on a long journey of self-discovery and health that has led me to this lifestyle! Continuing similar practices during this path as a new mother just makes sense to me both due to my training as a pediatric occupational therapist, and my maternal instincts.

My holistic passions are:
Natural childbirth (especially water birth),  breastfeeding advocacy, whole/natural foods and cooking, baby-led weaning, natural forms of healing, and attachment parenting.

What inspires you about HMN or holistic living?
This group inspires me because I am thrilled to find like-minded, powerful women. Holistic living inspires me because it taps into the intuitive knowledge of my body, nature, and the universe.

At Kryssage Wellness, we focus on the proven benefits of alternative healthcare. We believe that the body has a calling to heal itself through natural means, and that natural therapies can be used to complement more traditional methods.

Healing can start by using body work techniques such as Reiki, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Deep Tissue Massage and Maya Abdominal Therapy to work out what we like to call the "issues in the tissues." Using these methods, we customize each client's therapy to meet their specific needs and life goals. Working together, we open energy centers, improve nutrition, and even enhance inter and intra personal relationships-all these improving the physical and spiritual condition at the same time.

We provide:
  • Alternative
     Fertility treatments
  • Treatments for fibroids, cysts, scar tissue and digestive issues
  • Thai, Deep Tissue, Pregnancy and Therapeutic Massage
  • Reiki
  • Chinese Cupping
  • Yoga
