Monthly Chapter Meeting
Vaccine Rights & Controversies
Wednesday, April 8th, 7pm

Vaccine Controversies: What "They" Don't Want You to Know
Dr. Levatin, holistic pediatrician and homeopath for children and adults, has over 30 years of experience dealing with both unvaccinated and vaccine-damaged children. She will classify and demystify the diseases for which vaccines are recommended, and will then discuss vaccine controversies, including vaccine ingredients, financial conflicts of interest, laws that favor pharmaceutical companies, and unintended consequences of vaccine programs. She will discuss and defend the power of "anecdotal" evidence.

Vaccine Rights: Vaccine Harm and Compensation, Exemptions, Waivers, and Legislation
In the U.S., vaccines are required for school, college, work, immigration, in the military, at birth, but with increasing skepticism and concern--why? If we don't want required vaccines, how can we legally avoid them? What are our rights--how are they changing, and what can we do if we don't like that? Join nationally renown vaccine legal activist, radio show host and Vaccine Rights Attorney Alan Phillips

Please join us for this special Wednesday meeting.

The Health Doctors, 28379 Davis Parkway, Suite 803, Warrenville, IL 60555

How long have you been a member of HMN?
I just became a member in January 2015

I am an Holistic Mom because:
I have 3 children. Of those, my second and third were natural births and water births. The third also was a homebirth. I have cloth diapered (and currently with baby #3 I am trying to do elimination communication). I breastfeed. We believe in co-sleeping. I am very much into attachment parenting. As I become more holistic, I find myself rejecting a lot of things (such as vaccinations and circumcision) that I had never questioned before as a younger mom. I am always trying to make educated choices for me and my family rather than just doing what everybody else does just because it's the social norm.

My holistic passions are:
I am interested in treating illnesses as naturally as possible via homeopathy, essential oils,  food, etc.  Also, I find DIY's very fascinating. They are inexpensive without the ingredients that may be questionable or unnecessary and I like to rebel against large companies that I feel "dupe" us into paying extra for their chemical concoctions :) For example, I prefer no 'poo over shampoo, shea butter and oils over regular moisturizers and lotion, baking soda over toothpaste (Actually, baking soda for a ton of other things!), vinegar over fabric softener. The list goes on and I am always trying to find new ways to ditch the commercial stuff! Other than that, it is difficult to pinpoint what exactly are my holistic passions. I feel passionate about being holistic in general!

What inspires you about HMN or holistic living?
The sense of community, belonging, helping one another, and of there being no judgement. The thirst for knowledge that everyone has is refreshing!

One of my favorite healthy recipes:
I don't even know if this qualifies as a healthy recipe, but I just absolutely love having a strawberry milkshake in the mornings ever since discovering raw milk! Just blend frozen strawberries and frozen bananas with milk, a splash of vanilla, some maple syrup, and maybe a dash of cinnamon. It is just oh, so good!
