Member Highlight Christina Ghiotto | How long have you been a member of HMN? I became a Holistic member earlier this year. I am a holistic mom because: We should tread lightly on this Earth without destroying ourselves or the environment. I believe that we are all beings and we are not so different from one another. We all have the ability to be resourceful. My holistic passions are:
First, I love to cook and nourish my family. I deeply believe in a famous quote by Hippocrates, "Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food." Nourishment is the root of life. I feel like a plant in full phototropism when I see organic farmer's markets and new resources of the like! Finally, being a holistic mom I wish my family to observe, respect, and value life even in the tiniest of creatures and to have altruism in all living things. What inspires you about HMN or holistic living? Holistic living inspires me to look for ways to live a cleaner, healthier lifestyle, provide better and healthier food for myself and my family, and to gain a sense of peace and connection with my environment and other people. What is your favorite healthy recipe?
Green Morning Smoothie...my son loves this too! 1 cup coconut water or almond milk 1 cup destemmed kale leaves or baby spinach 1 Large frozen banana 1 Tbsp almond butter or peanut butter 1 Tbsp chia seeds or ground flax seeds Pinch of ground cinnamon 1 scoop of protein powder (optional) Yield: 1 smoothie Directions: 1. Add all ingredients into a high speed blender and blend until smooth |
