Jenny with help us navigate the world of green skin care. Bring 3 of your favorite holistic beauty / skin care products to share with the group! Four Winds Waldorf School | Member Highlight Christy Poniatowski | How long have you been a member of HMN?
I've been a member since May 2012.
I am a holistic mom because: Because well before I even knew it I was living a holistic lifestyle. I have always leaned towards natural approaches, questioned everything and did my own research! I am very passionate about living a more natural life and I was lucky enough to find like-minded mommas with HMN! My holistic passions are: While I try to live as holistic as possible and love learning about everything, I would have to say my real passions surround pregnancy, labor, birth and baby. I love giving the best possible start to the little ones entering the world. So, natural birth, breastfeeding, baby wearing, etc. are things I am most passionate about.
What inspires you about HMN or holistic living?
So much inspires me about HMN, but mostly its the other members in our Chapter. I have learned so much from other moms and their journey. I see the good they are doing and want to do the same. It's contagious being around such real, authentic, brave, knowledgeable women!
What is your favorite healthy recipe?
Stuffed Peppers 4 large green bell peppers 1/2 cup of cooked brown rice1/2 cup of cooked quinoa 1 lb 93% lean ground turkey (or beef) 2 garlic cloves 1/2 cup chopped onion 1 can diced tomatoes tomato sauce - enough to cover the bottom of a casserole dish salt and pepper to taste Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Cut bell peppers in half lengthwise; discard seeds and membranes. Place in a casserole dish - the bottom of the dish should be covered with a thin layer of tomato sauce. In a pan, add canola oil and sautee the onions until translucent (5-7 minutes). Add minced garlic and cook for 2 minutes. Then add the ground turkey (or beef) and brown.
In a large bowl, combine the cooked ground turkey, brown rice, and diced tomatoes. Add salt and pepper to taste. Scoop mixture into each bell pepper half.
Bake, covered, for 30 minutes. If desired, uncover, sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top, and bake an additional 5 minutes. |
