Monthly Chapter Meeting
Kids n' Nature
Tuesday, June 7th - 7pm
Join our experienced nature enthusiasts, Connie Sirota, Genis Schmidt, and others, as we discuss ways to encourage our children to enjoy and immerse themselves in nature. We'll also recognize the numerous learning opportunities involving nature.  We hope to invoke a group discussion on some of the following topics:
  • Great places in the 'burbs for hikes and nature walks.
  • What to do when we get there as we walk in the woods.
  • How do we spark critical thinking about what we encounter?
  • What plants and animals for which to look.
  • Identifying edible plants.  Identifying native plants.  For these, bring samples or photos to the meeting.
  • What are our other options and how to engage in these, such as biking, fishing, and camping.
  • Books that can be used as a read aloud etc. before or after the nature outing.  Same with poems or songs.
  • Resources online or otherwise that have been helpful before beginning a trek.
We hope you will join us and offer your unique input for this casual discussion on all things nature!

Meeting Location:  The Health Doctors, Ltd., 28379 Davis Parkway, Suite 803, Warrenville, Illinois 60555

How long have you been a member of HMN?
The 2012 HMN Christmas party was my 1st event and I joined shortly thereafter.

I am a holistic mom because:
 Having children inspires me to look deeper and deeper into how I have been living my life.  This journey has enriched my existence as an individual, a mother and a wife.  My children have really taught me to be mindful of how I take care of myself.  By nurturing my body, mind and spirit, I become a better example for everyone in my house.  I feel I am laying a healthy foundation for their future.

My holistic passions are:
Energy Therapy, Movement meditation and yoga, wholesome healthy foods and homeopathy.

What inspires you about HMN or holistic living?
Finding a community of women who share common ambitions and visions for ourselves, our families and our communities is wonderfully refreshing.  It feels like I have found instant kinship.  I look forward to the day that holistic living becomes commonplace!

One of my favorite recipes:

Maple-Flax Cluster Granola from freeeatsfood.com

* 5 cups gluten-free certified oats of choice
* 1/3 cup ground flax
* 1/2 cup maple syrup
* 1/3 cup oil of your choice (I use melted coconut oil.)
* 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
* 3/4 teaspoon sea salt
* 1 tablespoon vanilla extract (I use home-made corn-free or alcohol free Frontier brand)

In the bowl of a food processor fitted with a metal blade, place 1 1/2 cups of the oats.  Process until a coarse oat flour is produced

in a large mixing bowl, combine this oat flour with the remaining 3 1/2 cups of oats, the ground flax, maple syrup, oil, cinnamon, salt
and vanilla.

Stir until all ingredients are thoroughly combined and moistened.

Spread onto a sheet pan coated with parchment paper, silpat mat or lightly oiled foil.

Bake at 300 degrees for 35 - 50 mintues.  Bake until crisp and golden brown.

Cool completely on a sheet pan.  Store in air-tight container.

Eva Gairabetoff is a Reiki Master Teacher, a Wellness Lifestyle Advocate, mother of Tanya G. Kreger (who is also a Holistic Mom member) and grandmother of Lucas and Sophia. Path to Transformation is Eva's business name and it is the twirling energetic wellness umbrella consisting of:

-Reiki Certification Classes in Western Usui Reiki....soon to be offering Japanese Reiki Classes. Eva offers monthly Reiki Shares at the Advanced Healthcare Center in Wheaton on the 2nd Wednesday evening of every month. The next one is June 8th. All are welcome!

-ASEA supplement and skin care - What the ASEA redox supplement does is to create new cells from life molecules.  They found a way to produce life molecules outside the body and bring your cellular communication to optimal levels, improving the health of every system of your body, starting now. This is an innovative product that helps the body general energy, activate antioxidants, and work the way it should.For more information look at Eva's website: Gairabetoff.myasealife.com

-LamdaPulse - Uses PEMF (Pulsed ElectroMagenetic Field) frequency and the concept of sympathetic resonance. By getting to body to sync to its pulse (with beneficial FULL spectrum of Schumann resonances included), the body ignores ambient EMFs, thus mitigating the harmful effects of EMF. In fact, you can mitigate incoming EMFs into your home by placing two LamdaPulse units at the circuit breaker. They are very affordable at $159 each. For more info, email Eva.

-Another stepping stone on the path to help us raise our vibration is essential oils. Eva's favorite oils are by doTERRA and she teaches how to combine Reiki with essential oils. For more info about doTERRA (WA#1504447) check out this website: www.mydoterra.com/evagaira

Eva is a connoisseur several other forms of energetic healing and a wide variety of energetic healing tools besides those listed above. Having lived the Path, Eva is sharing what she has learned. A good beginning for spiritual awakening for many is to learn Reiki as this allows for transformation spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically.   Eva has been teaching and practicing Western Reiki for about 15 years and is now studying and practicing Japanese Reiki and will be teaching this form of Reiki in the fall or winter. You can check the Fall Reiki schedule of class on Eva's website www.pathtotransformation.info.

As a Holistic Mom member, you will receive a 30% discount on the currently scheduled Reiki classes and the ones that will be scheduled for the fall if you register two weeks before the date of the class. Note you can get the 30% discount on the Reiki 2 class scheduled on Sunday June 5th at 411 E. Roosevelt Road, in Wheaton. Email Eva at goldenmtgoat@comcast.net to register or to get on Eva's email list for Reiki classes and Reiki Shares.

If you can get at least four Holistic Mom's together, Eva will come to your home and teach a Reiki class on a Saturday or Sunday and we will work out a pricing to your advantage for that.
