Naperville Smart Meter Awareness Take Back Your Power! May 31, 2012 Federal Hearing Chicago, IL  Federal Injunction Status Today, April 19, Judge Chang began proceedings to rule on the motion for injunction to halt the forced installation of smart meters on Naperville residents until reasonable options are afforded them. The outcome of today's preliminary hearing was as  expected. Despite the city's attempt to spin this as a victory, the judge adhered to the rules of proceedings. Today's hearing was a briefing schedule and nothing more. Click here to view court document. Judge Chang clearly sees enough merit in this case to ensure the proceedings are followed correctly.  If this case had no merit, the judge would've dismissed it today.   Status Update April 19 Federal Injunction   As a result of the city forcing smart meters on their homes against their will, five more residents have joined the suit. Since the case has not been dismissed, each party will be given the opportunity to respond and oral arguments will begin on May 31. What does this mean to you? No still means No! "As reported in the Naperville Sun, UPA Customer Representative Jeff King said that it was his company's policy to not engage in any debate with a customer and if any UPA employees were arguing with customers, they were violating company policy. "There is a set process for customers who deny it (the smart meter)," he said. "We verify the customer's name, address and phone number and turn it in to the city of Naperville. They have guarded their analog meters.   They have hired electricians to de-install smart meters when utilities have refused. They are locking up their gates, posting NO TRESPASS signs and protecting their property.*            Click here for more pictures:  This is no longer about smart meters.  This is about protecting your personal property.  This is about protecting your constitutional rights. You are protected under the 4th, 5th, and 14th Amendment and the Energy Policy Act of 2005. This is a utility policy that is being marketed as a mandated project. It is an opt in program. Stand your ground!   Protect your property!   It is your home!  You have the right to protect your property from something that may harm you! Take back your power! More that you can do Many residents do not want a smart meter installed on their home.  They want the choice and according to the U.S. Constitution and the Energy Policy Act of 2005, we have that right. The city has denied its residents the choice. According to the city you will have opportunities to refuse the wireless smart meter, but you must sign up for the non-wireless alternative and pay the monthly penalty fee to protect your home and family. If after the 3rd attempt to install a meter on your home, and you have not signed up for the alternative, the city says it will bring a police escort to your home to intimidate you into allowing the installation of the wireless smart meter. We feel this is outrageous. There must be something serious wrongly with smart meters if the city has to threaten you to install one. Visit our website for more information on what you can do. Tell them Naperville is not a "police state" and residents won't accept being threatened or forced to install a meter on their home that they do not want.
