Take Back Your Power Rally
April 15, 1-2:30 pm
Naperville's City Hall
NAPERVILLE, Ill., --  Naperville Smart Meter Awareness and its supporters are holding a
Take Back Your Power Rally
on Sunday, April 15, 2012 from 1-2:30 pm at the Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S Eagle St., Naperville Il.

The theme for this event is "Take Back Your Power" and will address the lack of choice residents have been given in the locally mandated smart meter installation. Our goal is to bring about local government accountability, protect our civil and personal property rights, stop out-of-control spending and stand up for freedom and individual liberty.

The Take Back Your Power Rally will feature local speakers with a variety of backgrounds who have come together to advocate for freedom of choice and a fiscally responsible and safe utility solution in Naperville.

Speakers will include:
* Jeff Perkins, Patent Attorney, Former work history with Department of Energy and ComEd, holds an Engineering Degree in Power will discuss the lack of ROI on this project and wasted government spending
* Becky Olsen, Naperville resident who is Electrosensitive will discuss her experience with this damaging illness
* Maggie Wood, Teacher and Napervile Resident who had an smart meter installed without her consent
* Rick Newton, Wayne Resident and Home Inspector will discuss how the smart meter debate in Naperville is inspiring local groups to take action outside of our community

And many more...

Rally attendees will be encouraged to participate in a Q&A and make public commentary about their concerns and experiences.

We are at a critical point in the battle against mandated smart meters. Naperville's Electric utility continues to deploy smart meters in the face of a federal lawsuit and mounting public push back. ComEd is submitting their smart meter plan to the ICC and the IL Smart Grid Advisory Council in a few days. Local governments across the country are advocating for their constituents by stopping mandated smart meter installations or by giving their residents a no cost opt in choice. The battle against mandated smart meters is being waged across the globe, with countries such as the UK making their programs optional. State Legislators are banning together to introduce bills to provide choice to residents. And local groups across Illinois and the US are banning together in a show of strength to protect their personal property rights; their freedom of choice.

If you believe in your right to:

Naperville Smart Meter Awareness is 501(c)4 non-profit group of concerned citizens educating the public about the risks of wireless smart meters. We are comprised of lawyers, technology professionals, health advocates, accountants, business owners and parents in our community.

Smart meters are currently being installed in Naperville despite a request for federal injunction and on-going investigations by the Illinois Attorney General into Open Meetings Act Violations by the City of Naperville in conjunction with this project. Smart meters pose risks in the areas of privacy, costs, security, and health and are not federally mandated. Our mission is to educate the residents of Naperville by bringing all pertinent information to the public and in doing so, advocate for a smarter solution in Naperville.
