The recent and blatant disregard for resident's property has changed the face of the smart meter debate in Naperville. This is no longer solely about the right to refuse a smart meter. This is about the right to protect your private property from intrusion, for any reason, by a public, private or government entity. The city has ordered the UPA installers to disregard resident's right to protect their private property. They have ignored verbal requests to cease and desist. They have ignored written requests. They are trespassing on private property, jumping locked fences and entering backyards to install the meters. Is this the kind of Naperville you want to live in? Residents Speak Out:
Headaches, Interference & Forced Install
| Reports of interference with electronics and symptoms, such as headaches, are pouring in all across the country as wireless smart meters and their communications networks are being mass installed without the consent of residents.
Locally, we've already heard from residents who are reporting interference with their wireless devices.
But even more troubling is the experiences of one local resident, whose children began experiences headaches soon after a tropos unit was installed near her home. Her neighborhood was recently installed with wireless smart meters, and even though she refused, she is surrounded by wireless meters. On March 21, Maggie reported to us that she left her home for about 1 1/2 hours to go grocery shopping. Upon her return, she found a gren tag on her front door and a wireless smart meter on her home. This is a utility policy that is being marketed as a mandated project. It is an opt in program.

| More that you can do
| Many residents do not want a smart meter installed on their home. They want the choice and according to the U.S. Constitution and the Energy Policy Act of 2005, we have that right. The city has denied its residents the choice.
According to the city you will have opportunities to refuse the wireless smart meter, but you must sign up for the non-wireless alternative and pay the monthly penalty fee to protect your home and family. If after the 3rd attempt to install a meter on your home, and you have not signed up for the alternative, the city says it will bring a police escort to your home to intimidate you into allowing the installation of the wireless smart meter.
We feel this is outrageous. There must be something serious wrongly with smart meters if the city has to threaten you to install one.

| | | Naperville Smart Meter Awareness is a non-profit 501(c)4 group of concerned citizens educating the public about the risks of wireless smart meters. We are comprised of lawyers, technology professionals, health advocates, accountants, business owners and parents in our community.
Smart meters are currently being installed in Naperville despite a complaint for federal injunction and on-going investigations by the Illinois Attorney General for Open Meetings Act violations by the City of Naperville in conjunction with this project.
Smart meters pose risks in the areas of privacy, costs, security, and health and are not a federally mandated program. Our mission is to educate the residents of Naperville by bringing all pertinent information to the public and in doing so, advocate for a smarter solution in Naperville.
