Monthly Chapter Meeting
Getting those Good Vibrations:
Your Biofield's Role in Health and Healing

Tuesday, April 2nd, 7 - 9 pm

If you're doing all that you know of to improve your health and yet you often don't feel healthy, then don't miss this presentation! Scientific studies have demonstrated that surrounding and emanating from the human
body is a vibrating, resonating, oscillating energy field called the biofield. The human body is capable of emitting, receiving and absorbing a wide range of electrical magnetic frequencies, waves and fields that organize
the functions of the body. When the biofield is charged to its full capacity, it holds the possibility for rapid healing, cellular restoration and growth. This information is not new. Well known scientists have shown this over the past
century. Because electrical, magnetic and chemical alterations in the last 50 years and most strongly in the last 10 years have profoundly changed our environment, we must address bioenergetics to attain any lasting biochemical results. Come and learn about:
  • Why fully charging the biofield is often a missing key to healing the body
  • The importance of knowing that our cells communicate on DC current (or direct flow) and how AC current (or alternating current) can dissipate into the body and confuse the communication system.
  • How radio frequencies emitted from cell phones and computers can disrupt the bodies cellular communication system
  • Solutions for keeping those 'good vibrations' or Good Electrical Health
Our featured speaker is ...
BARBARA FLEMING, MA
Barbara is Founder of Pure Reign Life Care Center in Oak Park, IL. Pure Reign provides products and services that strengthen the body's biofield and accelerate the natural healing process. Barbara is also founder of
The Fleming Center, a school that teaches energetic exercises that coordinate the heart and mind. Barbara has been a researcher of the most developed information about our electro - communication system or biofield for about 25 years. She is an advanced referral practitioner in Quantum Reflex Analysis from Premier Research Labs, and is certified as a Health Physicist.

How long have you been a member of HMN?
I have not officially been a member of HMN for a year yet, but I have been on the email circuit for a few years.

I am a holistic mom because:
I have been realizing that my thinking has been becoming more and more holistic.  For years, I have been gradually learning about energy work, chakras, natural supplements, feng shui, etc.  My mom has been practicing reiki, healing touch, and essential oil therapy for years, so, being close to her, I have been experiencing these and other sources of healing and reading about them for a while now.  When I became pregnant with my first child in 2008, I began bringing organic produce into the house, and then as I learned about industrialized agricultural practices I became set on bringing in less meat and more high-protein grains and veggies, and meat from small farms through co-ops--"happy animals".  I am ever more interested in choosing more natural products and practices over ones with harmful chemicals for myself and my family.

Your holistic passions are:
-Grounding myself daily
-Using daily affirmations to help create the reality I am seeking.
-Cooking nutritious food for my family
-Gardening, canning, composting, and working toward preserving our environment
-Using essential oils and chiropractic care as a means to promote healing and well-being
-Learning about fermenting my own food (aka kimchi, etc.).  My neighbor and I plan to ferment some veggies in April.
-Learning more about homeopathic remedies
-Learning to parent in a more godly way and allowing my children to teach me the world's goodness every day

What inspires you about HMN or holistic living?
I love that holistic living promotes, health, healing, and a positive way of life.  I have found tremendous comfort, support, friendship, and knowledge from my HMN friends.

One of my favorite healthy recipes:

Having subscribed to a produce CSA the past two years taught me how to cook with anything but a recipe.  I throw things like this together often because it allows me to use what I have in the house.  If I don't have meat, the high-protein quinoa is a good grain to use.

Veggies with Quinoa (Stir Fry):
-Make quinoa in a rice cooker:  For two adults and two kids under 3, I use one cup quinoa, and 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth.
-If you are going to serve meat, you might cut up some chicken in bit-sized pieces and brown with oil, garlic and soy sauce.  Place in a serving dish and cover to keep warm.
-Chop veggies and add them to a heated skillet with maybe 1 tsp. toasted sesame oil and 1 or 2 tsp. safflower/canola/coconut oil.
-First, brown a small onion, then one or two cloves of garlic (two if someone is sick--to beat that cold) or garlic scapes, and perhaps some fresh ginger.  (Tip:  If you get a lot of garlic scapes from your CSA, chop and puree, and keep in freezer for future use.)
-Next, stir in the heartier veggies, like any cabbage, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, etc. you may be using.
-Then, stir in the quicker cooking veggies like bell peppers, mushrooms, and greens, and toast up some sesame seeds.
-Add Bragg's amino acids (tastes like soy sauce), maybe a little soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, or a little hoisin sauce.
-For spices, if I didn't use fresh ginger at the beginning, I might add some ground ginger now, and maybe some Chinese Five Spice and pepper or a red chili sauce like Annie Chun's Gochujang.  Check for taste.
-Fluff some quinoa and serve the veggies on top.  If you prepared meat and set aside, check to see if you need to reheat it in the skillet for a minute.  Then add that to your veggies and quinoa.  The kids think it's grand when we use chopsticks.  Enjoy!
