Meet Becky Olsen, life-long resident of Naperville and former music teacher.   EHS Naperville - Olsen Now meet "Shelia" (name changed)! Shelia is no longer able to live in her home because on May 23, approximately 26 smart meters were installed in her condo association. She has been forced to vacate her property. Medical professionals have written to Naperville, including the  American Academy of Environmental Medicine and Harvard trained MD, David Carpenter and a local cardiologist from a prominent University in Chicago. Naperville city council is not listening. Naperville city manager, Doug Kreiger is not listening. The head of the Department of Public Works - Electric, Mark Curran is not listen. Meter Guards, Electricians & No Trespass Signs Across the country, residents have taken matters into their own hands. They have guarded their analog meters.   They have hired electricians to de-install smart meters when utilities have refused. They are locking up their gates, posting NO TRESPASS signs and protecting their property.*            Click here for more pictures:  This is no longer about smart meters.  This is about protecting your personal property.  This is about protecting your constitutional rights. You are protected under the 4th, 5th, and 14th Amendment and the Energy Policy Act of 2005. This is a utility policy that is being marketed as a mandated project. It is an opt in program. Stand your ground!   Protect your property!   It is your home!  You have the right to protect your property from something that may harm you! Take back your power! More that you can do Many residents do not want a smart meter installed on their home.  They want the choice and according to the U.S. Constitution and the Energy Policy Act of 2005, we have that right. The city has denied its residents the choice. According to the city you will have opportunities to refuse the wireless smart meter, but you must sign up for the non-wireless alternative and pay the monthly penalty fee to protect your home and family. If after the 3rd attempt to install a meter on your home, and you have not signed up for the alternative, the city says it will bring a police escort to your home to intimidate you into allowing the installation of the wireless smart meter. We feel this is outrageous. There must be something serious wrongly with smart meters if the city has to threaten you to install one. Visit our website for more information on what you can do. Tell them Naperville is not a "police state" and residents won't accept being threatened or forced to install a meter on their home that they do not want. Sign the Petition If you have already made up your mind and don't want smart meters in our community then sign the Cease and Desist petition.   Tell the city to stop the install of  smart meters in Naperville. Naperville Smart Meter Awareness is a non-profit 501(c)4 group of concerned citizens educating the public about the risks of wireless smart meters.
