Contact us to volunteer.   One step closer to class action lawsuit   VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - A group of people living in BC are one step closer to filing  a class action lawsuit over smart meters. The group Citizens For Safe Technology wants British Columbians to have a choice in the use of BC Hydro's smart meters. Director Una St. Clair argues the use of wireless frequencies in these meters is bad for your health. She says 100 people with medical proof that smart meters are harmful back-up the human rights complaint. "The argument is that BC Hydro has no right to come between the patient and the doctor and we all have the right within our own homes to live as we choose," claims St. Clair. But health concerns are not the only reason the group filed the complaint. "This is a first step in the march to regain civil, and human, democratic rights, as we exercise our choice within our own home to live the way we choose," says St. Clair. "More and more people need to protect themselves within their homes. So the next step is to further refine the information for the BC Human Rights Tribunal, and we move ahead with that class action." They have guarded their analog meters.   They have hired electricians to de-install smart meters when utilities have refused. They are locking up their gates, posting NO TRESPASS signs and protecting their property.*            Click here for more pictures:  This is no longer about smart meters.  This is about protecting your personal property.  This is about protecting your constitutional rights. You are protected under the 4th, 5th, and 14th Amendment and the Energy Policy Act of 2005. This is a utility policy that is being marketed as a mandated project. It is an opt in program. Stand your ground!   Protect your property!   It is your home!  You have the right to protect your property from something that may harm you! Take back your power! More that you can do Many residents do not want a smart meter installed on their home.  They want the choice and according to the U.S. Constitution and the Energy Policy Act of 2005, we have that right. The city has denied its residents the choice. According to the city you will have opportunities to refuse the wireless smart meter, but you must sign up for the non-wireless alternative and pay the monthly penalty fee to protect your home and family. If after the 3rd attempt to install a meter on your home, and you have not signed up for the alternative, the city says it will bring a police escort to your home to intimidate you into allowing the installation of the wireless smart meter. We feel this is outrageous. There must be something serious wrongly with smart meters if the city has to threaten you to install one. Visit our website for more information on what you can do. Tell them Naperville is not a "police state" and residents won't accept being threatened or forced to install a meter on their home that they do not want. Sign the Petition If you have already made up your mind and don't want smart meters in our community then sign the Cease and Desist petition.   Tell the city to stop the install of  smart meters in Naperville.
