Virus brings down many functions including online utility bill pay.

Naperville Smart Meter Awareness

Empowering the community to "Take Back Your Power"
by informing the community about the risks of
"smart" meters.
National Day of Action Against
"Smart" Meters
Dear Friends,

Last Thursday, October 4, we took our message of people over profits to the corner of Washington and Chicago with great success!

Curious looks, approving smiles and boisterous honks were all part of the experience to empower others to take a stand and demand the recall of "smart" meters that are responsible for the growing number of home and building fires that are sweeping the country.

Click here for pictures from over 3 dozen rally's across the country.

Local coverage can be found here.

Hot off the press is a another letter from Dr. Carpenter warning Naperville about the negative physiologic impact from the wireless communication network system needed to support the "smart" meters.

Click here for the cover letter sent to Naperville.
Click here for the letter signed by 54 scientists also sent to the council by Dr. Carpenter.

Scientists from over 20 countries are urging our policy makers to wake up and start protecting people over profits. This letter has since been published in the WSJ.

Naperville, you have the power to say No to placing an unnecessary and unwanted utility device on our homes, schools and businesses.

We can't do it for you
.

You have to start Taking Back Your Power and protecting your family before irreparable damage is done.

With the increasing number of fires we have the right to say what goes on our homes. You just need to exercise that right.

Lock your fences, defend your property and Say No to a known fire hazard before it's too late.

We don't need permission from our city to protect our homes and families. If they're not going to recall a product that is a known fire hazard and put the public's safety over profits than each one of us has to take a stand and protect our loved ones.

Be Educated, Be Informed, Be Moved to Action,

City's Website Down Since
October 2, 2012

"During this time, we need to return to ways of doing business that worked well in the past." (October 5 press release).

Sometimes we need to keep the ways of doing business that worked well in the past!

According to a press release dated October 3:

"On Tuesday, October 2, the City's anti-virus software identified and quarantined a virus on our computer network," City Manager Doug Krieger said. "As a precautionary measure, and at the recommendation of our cyber security consultant, we are bringing many of our systems down to ensure full system integrity. We appreciate your patience during this time."

The city is willing to listen to experts, it seems, but only when those experts are of their choosing. Naperville has continued to dismiss warnings from top security firms and medical doctors to the risks of smart meters - even when those warnings have been issued directly to them.

Its a shame its been this long that the system has been down...this is Naperville for goodness sake and according to council immune from the problems of the outside world.

Meter Guards, Electricians & No Trespass Signs
Across the country, residents have taken matters into their own hands. They have guarded their analog meters.   They have hired electricians to de-install smart meters when utilities have refused. They are locking up their gates, posting NO TRESPASS signs and protecting their property.*

This is no longer about smart meters.

This is about protecting your personal property.

This is about protecting your constitutional rights.

You are protected under the 4th, 5th, and 14th Amendment and the Energy Policy Act of 2005.

This is a utility policy that is being marketed as a mandated project. It is an opt in program.

Stand your ground!
Protect your property!

It is your home!

You have the right to protect your property from something that may harm you!

Take back your power!

More that you can do
Many residents do not want a smart meter installed on their home.  They want the choice and according to the U.S. Constitution and the Energy Policy Act of 2005, we have that right. The city has denied its residents the choice.

According to the city you will have opportunities to refuse the wireless smart meter, but you must sign up for the non-wireless alternative and pay the monthly penalty fee to protect your home and family. If after the 3rd attempt to install a meter on your home, and you have not signed up for the alternative, the city says it will bring a police escort to your home to intimidate you into allowing the installation of the wireless smart meter.

We feel this is outrageous. There must be something serious wrongly with smart meters if the city has to threaten you to install one.

Naperville Smart Meter Awareness is a non-profit 501(c)4 group of concerned citizens educating the public about the risks of wireless smart meters. We are comprised of lawyers, technology professionals, health advocates, accountants, business owners and parents in our community.

Smart meters are currently being installed in Naperville despite a complaint for federal injunction and on-going investigations by the Illinois Attorney General for Open Meetings Act violations by the City of Naperville in conjunction with this project.

Smart meters pose risks in the areas of privacy, costs, security, and health and are not a federally mandated program. Our mission is to educate the residents of Naperville by bringing all pertinent information to the public and in doing so, advocate for a smarter solution in Naperville.
