Naperville rate increases will require ratepayers to pay
 $60-$150 more per month
in electric rates

NCTV17 Facebook Page posted on Feb 25, 2014:

"ELECTRIC COSTS GOING UP: Naperville News 17 is looking for YOUR opinion on the possibility of a 6% electric rate hike starting this May, instead of the scheduled 2% increase.

On Monday night, city council discussed ideas to fund the $14 million deficit of the electric utility by increasing electric rates by 6% in Fiscal Year 2015 and by 7% in Fiscal Year 2016.

This means the average user of 923KWh who currently pays $92.79 would pay $97.69 starting this May and $105.24 in May of 2015. You'll be paying, on average, $60 more in FY 15 and almost $150 more in FY 16.

What do you think of the proposed changes?"

Naperville Smart Meter Awareness is a non-profit 501(c)(4) group of concerned citizens educating the public about the risks of wireless smart meters. We are comprised of lawyers, technology professionals, health advocates, accountants, business owners and parents in our community.

Smart meters are currently being installed in Naperville despite a complaint for federal injunction and on-going investigations by the Illinois Attorney General for Open Meetings Act violations by the City of Naperville in conjunction with this project.

Smart meters pose risks in the areas of privacy, costs, security, safety and health and are not a federally mandated program. Our mission is to educate the residents of Naperville by bringing all pertinent information to the public and in doing so, advocate for a smarter solution in Naperville.
