 Naperville Smart Grid Program:
Delays, More Potential
Costs Over-runs.

Naperville Sun, Feb 3, 2014 - "Fieseler predicted that the interruption caused by the city's need to terminate the contract would delay implementation of the fully interactive feature until at least the end of 2015.

"We've got to get somebody new, and we can't confine them to working with (what was built by) Calico," he said.

There is no immediate rush to get the portal, one of the final pieces of the smart grid system, online. Other aspects of the project are moving ahead independently."

Comments from Residents:

November 5, 2012 I spoke up about the Electric Company  negative $2 Million cash flow.  Krieger told all of us, "there is no negative cash flow!"  It was the way public accounting worked.   The video is on the Naperville City Council Watch Dog

Per the City The 2010 Electric Rate Study "sharply underestimated the projected five-year cost of power, resulting in fee levels that drained the required $11.2 million dollar reserve as it created a $14 million 'negative cash flow' scenario" The Electric company is looking at $7.5 million worth of development, replacement, and relocation expense, NEARLY 90% of it UNFUNDED at this point.

Exactly why has the public, and Council been so mislead?

Who from CON (City of Naperville) prepped the consultants for the rate study?

Was the rate study skewed to "quell dissent?"

How bad is the problem with IMEA cost if electricity?

Apparently Fieseler was aware of the e-portal problem stating that it now is delayed until the end of 2015.

Naperville Smart Meter Awareness is a non-profit 501(c)(4) group of concerned citizens educating the public about the risks of wireless smart meters. We are comprised of lawyers, technology professionals, health advocates, accountants, business owners and parents in our community.

Smart meters are currently being installed in Naperville despite a complaint for federal injunction and on-going investigations by the Illinois Attorney General for Open Meetings Act violations by the City of Naperville in conjunction with this project.

Smart meters pose risks in the areas of privacy, costs, security, safety and health and are not a federally mandated program. Our mission is to educate the residents of Naperville by bringing all pertinent information to the public and in doing so, advocate for a smarter solution in Naperville.
