Dear Naperville Smart Meter Awareness Organization and Jennifer Stahl,
I would like to thank you for speaking at my Homeowners Association meeting last night. I greatly appreciate the time the people in your organization take out of their busy schedules to keep the residents of Naperville informed about the truth about Smart Meters, and to advocate for our rights.
It is clear that you have done your research about what is going on with Smart Meters worldwide, and in my opinion you are better educated on the subject than the people who are forcing us to install Smart Meters on our homes. Furthermore, it is nice to be able to hear from a group that is made up of regular citizens instead of politicians and hired public relations consultants.
I am grateful that you were able to share your knowledge about the health risks, security issues, financial costs, and privacy concerns associated with Smart Meters. You shed a lot of light on what is going on in homes across this country and around the world where Smart Meters are installed, with accounts of fires, quadrupled power bills, and symptoms of serious illness related to Smart Meters. It seems that others are paying a high price for the energy conservation that we hope to enjoy.
I know that many of my neighbors share my sentiments and are appreciative of all of the information you provided them with last night. I hope that other HOA's and groups will be able to have the same opportunity to hear from you and get their questions answered.
Sincerely, Jennifer Elder

City continues to install despite community concerns

"Smart" meters are not federally mandated.
Naperville's utility and the City Council do not have authority to force a resident to accept a smart meter on their home. Know your rights! You have the right to say No!
If you do not want a "smart" meter on your home do the following:
Visit our What you can do page for signage and more information.
1) Post a letter of No Consent on your meter and send a copy to the utility, certified mail. 2) Request an Installation Delay. Call the installer (UPA) at 877-423-3194 and ask for the latest date possible. Ask for a specific date and time. Note the name of the person you speak with. 3) Post a "Do Not Install" sign on your meter and another on your front door. Samples & stickers available by clicking here. 4) Be home when the installer tries to replace your meter. Inform them of your rights to say no. Insist they wait pending legal action against the city. 5) Put up a yard sign, contact us and we'll drop one off. 6) Call Mayor Pradel and insist he protect your rights under the US Energy Act of 2005. mayor@naperville.il.us (630) 420-6018 7) Donate to support the filing for Injunctive Relief against smart meters in Naperville.
