Lee's Courtroom 1225.    Overflow attendees are encouraged to stay outside the federal building with signs and T-shirts peacefully advocating for your right to retain your analog meters.  Naperville residents: The City continues to spend taxpayer dollars to fight its own residents to prevent them from having the choice to keep their analog meters.   We encourage all residents to re-engage the council, urging them to pass a resolution allowing for a no-cost opt out option.          DONATE NOW Donate Now! The federal lawsuit against the City of Naperville seeks to protect our property rights and civil liberties.  In essence, to be able to determine what is placed on our homes.  Currently, the lawsuit is in the full discovery phase. Plaintiffs - which include Naperville Smart Meter Awareness - are seeking injunctive relief in federal court.   Plaintiffs are asking the court for a no-cost opt out option and the ability to retain their analog meters - the same relief residents in many other states already enjoy. Discovery is a costly phase of any legal proceeding. Your support at this critical phase will help us proceed with this important legal case which is truly about the rights of all US citizens effected by mandated smart meters. Meter Guards, Electricians & No Trespass Signs Across the country, residents have taken matters into their own hands. They have guarded their analog meters.   They have hired electricians to de-install smart meters when utilities have refused. They are locking up their gates, posting NO TRESPASS signs and protecting their property.*            Click here for more pictures:  This is no longer about smart meters.  This is about protecting your personal property.  This is about protecting your constitutional rights. You are protected under the 4th, 5th, and 14th Amendment and the Energy Policy Act of 2005. This is a utility policy that is being marketed as a mandated project. It is an opt in program. Stand your ground!   Protect your property!   It is your home!  You have the right to protect your property from something that may harm you! Take back your power! More that you can do Many residents do not want a smart meter installed on their home.  They want the choice and according to the U.S. Constitution and the Energy Policy Act of 2005, we have that right. The city has denied its residents the choice. According to the city you will have opportunities to refuse the wireless smart meter, but you must sign up for the non-wireless alternative and pay the monthly penalty fee to protect your home and family. If after the 3rd attempt to install a meter on your home, and you have not signed up for the alternative, the city says it will bring a police escort to your home to intimidate you into allowing the installation of the wireless smart meter. We feel this is outrageous. There must be something serious wrongly with smart meters if the city has to threaten you to install one. Visit our website for more information on what you can do. Tell them Naperville is not a "police state" and residents won't accept being threatened or forced to install a meter on their home that they do not want. Sign the Petition If you have already made up your mind and don't want smart meters in our community then sign the Cease and Desist petition.   Tell the city to stop the install of  smart meters in Naperville. Naperville Smart Meter Awareness is a non-profit 501(c)4 group of concerned citizens educating the public about the risks of wireless smart meters. We are comprised of lawyers, technology professionals, health advocates, accountants, business owners and parents in our community.   Smart meters are currently being installed in Naperville despite a complaint for federal injunction and on-going investigations by the Illinois Attorney General for Open Meetings Act violations by the City of Naperville in conjunction with this project.
