Notes from the August Meeting | It was a wonderful discussion about how we each take care of ourselves, as mothers, spouses, and women. Each of us struggle with and celebrate our roles differently and sharing our insights with each other helps us grow. I was recently told by a very talented and insightful healer: when women become mothers they forget how to honor themselves. This holds true for so many of us. But each of us also bears the responsibility to take the time we need for our emotional, spiritual and physical health. It is a difficult task, especially when children are young, but one that is essential for the growth of ourselves, our family, and our community. When we honor our own needs and protect the space we need for renewal, we are able to put good energy into all things we touch.

Holistic Passions: One of my holistic passions is connecting with the Spirits of our children. To look beyond the personality and to eagerly await those moments when they "Come Alive!" As a guide, I am passionate about inspiring, encouraging, and supporting that "Aliveness" so that they remain confident to share their gifts with the world! What inspires me about holistic living: I am inspired by "Lightening Up" on the holistic path. In the past, I feel like I put way too many restrictions on how we lived our lives as a family. Wow, that's exhausting!! So I surrendered to letting my kids eat the cake at the birthday parties and even watch a little Disney channel, OUCH!! And their still thriving beyond my wildest dreams. Thank you to all the Moms at HMN, I'm always inspired by the passion and knowledge that is exchanged at our meetings and outings.
