| How long have you been a member of Holistic Moms Network? One year... and I just renewed my membership for a second year! Woo hoo!
I am a holistic mom because: I believe in treating the body, mind and soul naturally and with elements of nature. I struggle with people seeking treatment with manufactured medicines, filling their bodies with processed foods, and then complaining that they aren't feeling their best. God has given us everything we need in nature... it is up to us to use it! Also, I am a new mom and I want to learn everything I can about caring for a body that is more precious than mine.
My holistic passions are: Eating healthy, organic, whole foods. If you want to see me lose my mind, bring up GMOs! (In fact, I had two very scary, very long paragraphs about GMOs tacked on to this question but decided to erase them for fear of making myself look wacko. Let's just say, I cannot have a sane conversation about them! My heart literally starts to beat irregularly.)
What inspires you about HMN or holistic living? I recently compared the benefits of holistic living to a friend by describing two mirrors facing each other... the possibilities to live your life in natural, pure ways are endless and all so wonderful to the mind and body. I am a sponge ready to soak up as much knowledge as I can about this way of life! As for HMN, it is inspiring and wonderful to be in a room with people who don't think I am certifiably wacko!
One of my favorite healthy recipes: This recipe is embarrassingly easy to make, but it has been a favorite of mine and a staple in my kitchen since a friend made it for me years ago at a Moroccan-themed potluck. I made a chicken b'stilla that took the better part of four hours, and I am pretty sure her stew took a quarter of that time and it stole the show! As with most stews, it tastes even better the next day. :) Warning: your house will smell delicious!

| Hobson School is focused on teaching the whole child Equal emphasis is placed on social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth. The learning environment is rich with hands on experiences in the classroom and in Hobson's "backyard." Our director and teachers have a deep understanding of early childhood development, and the experience needed to guide young children in the learning process. We believe that an important part of preschool is to provide an experience-based environment where children have opportunities that support their creativity, curiosity and expand their understanding of the world around them. Along with our pre-school classes for 3-5 year olds, we offer a parent-child class for 2 year olds. The purpose of these classes is to introduce the concept of school to young children with the comfort of having a parent nearby. Such an experience makes the transition to school and socializing with children and adults outside of your family easier. Hobson is a wonderful choice for your child's first school experience and is a welcoming community for your family. We invite you to call and schedule a time to observe our classroom.
