MEMBER HIGHLIGHT

JESSICA DIAMOND

How long have you been a member of HMN?
I joined two months ago.

I am a holistic mom because:
I have always lived a holistic lifestyle and believe strongly in the importance of taking care of ourselves and the environment.  My husband Ahren and I have a 20 year old foster daughter Paten that came to us when she was 10 and is now in college and we have a 10 year old foster boy, Anthony,  that has been with us for four months now.

My holistic passions are:
I am interested in all things holistic.  I started as a high schooler working for a homeopathic and naturopathic clinic where I first learned about the holistic lifestyle.  I interned with a whole foods chef, trained as a reiki master, went to acupuncture school (and eventually became an acupuncture school dropout), studied under a Hawaiian Shaman to learn various energy healing techniques, studied and became a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and continue to voraciously learn anything I can that at all resembles holistic living.  My work is in the organic/natural foods field and has allowed me to continue learning and practicing what I have already learned.

What inspires you about HMN or holistic living?
Everything.  I am continually amazed at the difference in how I feel when I follow what I know to be best for my body and to see the differences in other people as well.  I so appreciate the opportunity to live in a way that feels connected to nature and connected to other people that feel similarly.

One of my favorite recipes:

One thing I do every day is make some version of a superfoods drink.  Usually it is a tablespoon of a medicinal mushroom powder (usually reishi) mixed with a tablespoon of organic unsweetened cocoa powder, a scoop of collagen powder, a tablespoon of MCT oil, and a few drops of stevia.  For me, it helps me to start my day with bit of a natural energy boost but without raising my blood sugar levels.  The MCT helps me stay focused and steady.
